   5 <p>Slashdot got a story about Intel planning a
   6 <a href="http://entertainment.slashdot.org/story/12/06/09/0012247/intel-to-launch-tv-service-with-facial-recognition-by-end-of-the-year">TV
   7 with face recognition</a> to recognise the viewer, and it occurred to
   8 me that it would be more interesting to turn it around, and do face
   9 recognition on the TV image itself.  It could let the viewer know who
  10 is present on the screen, and perhaps look up their credibility,
  11 company affiliation, previous appearances etc for the viewer to better
  12 evaluate what is being said and done.  That would be a feature I would
  13 be willing to pay for.</p>

  15 <p>I would not be willing to pay for a TV that point a camera on my
  16 household, like the big brother feature apparently proposed by Intel.
  17 It is the telescreen idea fetched straight out of the book
  18 <a href="http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks01/0100021.txt">1984 by George
  19 Orwell</a>.</p>
