   6 project</a> is making great progress and made its second Wheezy based
   7 release today.  This is the release announcement:</p>

  12 <p>This is the release notes for for Debian Edu / Skolelinux 7.0.0 edu
  13 alpha1, based on <a href="http://www.debian.org">Debian</a> with
  14 codename "Wheezy".</p>

  16 <p><strong>About Debian Edu and Skolelinux</strong></p>

  18 <p>Debian Edu, also known as Skolelinux, is a Linux distribution based
  19 on Debian providing an out-of-the box environment of a completely
  20 configured school network. Immediatly after installation a school
  21 server running all services needed for a school network is set up just
  22 waiting for users and machines being added via GOsa², a comfortable
  23 Web-UI. A netbooting environment is prepared using PXE, so after
  24 initial installation of the main server from CD, DVD or USB stick all
  25 other machines can be installed via the network.</p>

  27 <p>This is the first test release based on Wheezy (which currently is
  28 not released yet). Basically this is an updated and slightly improved
  29 version compared to the Squeeze release.</p>

  33   <li>Install freemind (0.9.0) by default, and stop installing vym by
  34     default.</li>

  38     ibus-anthy.</li>

  49     problems.</li>
  50   <li>Corrected proxy handling to not set http_proxy to a bogus
  51     direct:// URL.</li>
  52   <li>Corrected proxy setup for diskless workstations.</li>
  53   <li>Corrected PXE setup to use our updated udebs during installation.</li>
  54   <li>Made installation handling of low entropy level more robust.</li>
  55   <li>Create larger partitions for Roaming workstations and Thin client
  56     servers, to make room for all the software installed.</li>

  66     libnss-myhostname on roaming workstations until it is fixed.</li>

  68   <li>No mass import of user account data in GOsa (ldif or csv)
  69     available yet (<a href="http://bugs.debian.org/698840">698840</a>).</li>
  70   <li>Missing artwork for the KDE desktop (and probably a few others).</li>
  71   <li>KDE Debian submenu lacks icons.</li>
  72   <li>LXDE menu lacks entry for changing GOsa password
  73     (website). Installing gosa-desktop will be an option.</li>
