  15 solar power, and wood power are well known.  Until a few days ago, I
  16 had never heard of stone power.  Then I learn about a quarry in a

  26 using, and selling the surplus electricity to the Norwegian power
  27 grid.  I find the concept truly amazing.  Is this the worlds only

  45 a infrared remote controller, and a RS-232 serial line.  The vendor of

  47 sensible enough to document the serial protocol in its user manual, so
  48 it is easily available, and I used it some years ago to write

  50 small script to control the projector&lt;/a&gt;.  For a while now, I longed
  51 for a setup where the projector was controlled by Kodi, for example in
  52 such a way that when the screen saver went on, the projector was
  53 turned off, and when the screen saver exited, the projector was turned
  54 on again.&lt;/p&gt;

  56 &lt;p&gt;A few days ago, with very good help from parts of my family, I
  57 managed to find a Kodi Add-on for controlling a Epson projector, and
  58 got in touch with its author to see if we could join forces and make a
  59 Add-on with support for several projectors.  To my pleasure, he was
  60 positive to the idea, and we set out to add InFocus support to his
  61 add-on, and make the add-on suitable for the official Kodi add-on
  62 repository.&lt;/p&gt;

  64 &lt;p&gt;The Add-on is now working (for me, at least), with a few minor
  65 adjustments.  The most important change I do relative to the master
  66 branch in the github repository is embedding the
  67 &lt;a href=&quot;https://github.com/pyserial/pyserial&quot;&gt;pyserial module&lt;/a&gt; in
  68 the add-on.  The long term solution is to make a &quot;script&quot; type
  69 pyserial module for Kodi, that can be pulled in as a dependency in
  70 Kodi.  But until that in place, I embed it.&lt;/p&gt;

  72 &lt;p&gt;The add-on can be configured to turn on the projector when Kodi
  73 starts, off when Kodi stops as well as turn the projector off when the
  74 screensaver start and on when the screesaver stops.  It can also be
  75 told to set the projector source when turning on the projector.

 255 (mis)using information it got from Facebook about 50 million people,
 256 mostly in the USA.  What I find a bit surprising, is how little
 257 criticism Facebook is getting for handing the information over to
 258 Cambridge Analytica and others in the first place.  And what about the
 259 people handing their private and personal information to Facebook?
 260 And last, but not least, what about the government offices who are
 261 handing information about the visitors of their web pages to Facebook?
 262 No-one who looked at the terms of use of Facebook should be surprised
 263 that information about peoples interests, political views, personal
 264 lifes and whereabouts would be sold by Facebook.&lt;/p&gt;

 266 &lt;p&gt;What I find to be the real scandal is the fact that Facebook is
 267 selling your personal information, not that one of the buyers used it
 268 in a way Facebook did not approve when exposed.  It is well known that
 269 Facebook is selling out their users privacy, but a scandal
 270 nevertheless.  Of course the information provided to them by Facebook
 271 would be misused by one of the parties given access to personal
 272 information about the millions of Facebook users.  Collected
 273 information will be misused sooner or later.  The only way to avoid
 274 such misuse, is to not collect the information in the first place.  If
 275 you do not want Facebook to hand out information about yourself for
 276 the use and misuse of its customers, do not give Facebook the
 277 information.&lt;/p&gt;

 380 translators, the first draft of a Norwegian Bokmål edition of the book

 382 was complete.  The Spanish translation is also complete, while the
 383 Dutch, Polish, German and Ukraine edition need a lot of work.  Get in

 399 proof reading is almost done, and only the second and third proof
 400 reading remains.  We will also need to translate the 14 figures and
 401 create a book cover.  Once it is done we will publish the book on
 402 paper, as well as in PDF, ePub and possibly Mobi formats.&lt;/p&gt;

 404 &lt;p&gt;The book itself originates as a manuscript on Google Docs, is
 405 downloaded as ODT from there and converted to Markdown using pandoc.
 406 The Markdown is modified by a script before is converted to DocBook
 407 using pandoc.  The DocBook is modified again using a script before it
 408 is used to create a Gettext POT file for translators.  The translated
 409 PO file is then combined with the earlier mentioned DocBook file to
 410 create a translated DocBook file, which finally is given to dblatex to
 411 create the final PDF.  The end result is a set of editions of the
 412 manuscript, one English and one for each of the translations.&lt;/p&gt;
