   5 <p>For those of us caring about document exchange and
   6 interoperability, <a href="http://www.officeshots.org/">OfficeShots</a>
   7 is a great service.  It is to ODF documents what
   8 <a href="http://browsershots.org/">BrowserShots</a> is for web
   9 pages.</p>

  11 <p>A while back, I was contacted by Knut Yrvin at the part of Nokia
  12 that used to be Trolltech, who wanted to help the OfficeShots project
  13 and wondered if the University of Oslo where I work would be
  14 interested in supporting the OfficeShots project.  I helped him to
  15 navigate his request to the right people at work, and his request was
  16 answered with a spot in the machine room with power and network
  17 connected, and Knut arranged funding for a machine to fill the spot.
  18 The machine is administrated by the OfficeShots people, so I do not
  19 have daily contact with its progress, and thus from time to time check
  20 back to see how the project is doing.</p>

  22 <p>Today I had a look, and was happy to see that the Dell box in our
  23 machine room now is the host for several virtual machines running as
  24 OfficeShots factories, and the project is able to render ODF documents
  25 in 17 different document processing implementation on Linux and
  26 Windows.  This is great.</p>
